Natural Park Ria Formosa
Necton is located in the Parque Natural Ria Formosa,
a protected Natural Park. Ria Formosa is the coast near region spanning about
80 km from Faro till near the Spanish border.
We are a environment friendly
company; traditional salt pans have an unique ecosystem in which
microalgae, brine shrimp and salt marsh birds have lived
for centuries.
Taking care for and rebuilding traditional salinas,
we help to preserve this environment. The salt economy contributes to a
sustainable development in which men lives and produces natural products inside
a wildlife habitat.
Birdwatchers and ecologists enjoy the positive
development of the Natural Park Ria Formosa in the last years. Lots of wild
birds, too!

Flamingos
Ria Formosa is a natural habitat for flamingos,
storks and many other water-birds. Our salt production does not interfere in
any way with any wild animals in the Parque.
You can visit two info-centers, open for all
interested persons:
- Quinta do Marim near Olhão.
- Quinta do Lago near Faro.
